Valley Elementary Educational Foundation
Raising money to enrich the educational experience so every child at Valley can succeed

Wine in the ValleyThe Foundation’s most historic year was the 2009-10 school year. We had a tireless group of nine board members. We had two signature fundraising events — the Wine in the Valley auction and gala in the fall and the Cinco de Mayo Trail Run in the spring.

It was that year that the Foundation awarded its first grant by an outside organization — $3,700 grant from The Pentair Foundation for math- and science-related activities. It was that year that the Foundation solidified its brand. It was that year that the Wine in the Valley event brought in nearly $41,000 and that the Cinco de Mayo Trail Run, then in its fourth year, raised nearly $40,000 and drew 1,000 runners — unprecedented for an elementary school fundraiser.

That was the pinnacle of the Foundation’s early years. We did it with nine board members and the support of hundreds of volunteers. But we couldn’t keep that pace for long. Our numbers dwindled. To sustain the resources we had left, we voted to suspend the Wine in the Valley event in the hope that one day, we’d build ourselves back up, reinstate the fundraiser where the call to “Stand Up for Valley” became a mantra, and get back to the point where we could raise between $75,000 and $100,000 a year for our school.

Some of us from that original board are still at this school. Others of us still serve on the board today. We still remember. We know it’s possible to get back to where we were. We know that one day we can be even bigger, even better and raise even more for our students. But we can’t do it alone. We need you!

We Need You!
It only takes one person to make a difference to a student. We think you’re the one. Whether your student is just starting preschool or kindergarten or is about to go into fifth grade, it’s never too early, and certainly never too late, to be part of something big.

Are you:Super Heroes

an organizational freak?
good at keeping the books?
able to rally the troops?
the ultimate event planner?
a born salesperson?
part of the in-crowd at the Chamber of Commerce?
a techie or a wiz on the web?

You don’t need to be faster than a speeding bullet. You don’t need to leap tall buildings in a single bound. You just need to be you. We’ll think you’re super just the way you are — and your kid will know you’re a hero!
